Hypercalcemia

Hypercalcaemia, Hypercalcemia, High calcium level

Calcium (Calcium, Ca2+)

calcium nutrition source milk, cheese
  • Calcium is mainly responsible for repolarization of the action potential
  • Physiological concentration is 2.1 - 2.6 mmol/l
  • Hypercalcemia has 3 stages:
    • Mild ( 2.7 - 2.9 mmol/l ) hypercalcemia
    • Moderate ( 3.0 - 3.4 mmol/l ) hypercalcemia
    • Severe ( > 3.4 mmol/l ) hypercalcemia

  • Calcium is mainly found in:
    • Milk, cheese, and yogurt

Causes of Hypercalcemia

ECG and Hypercalcemia

ECG changes in hypercalcaemia, hypocalcaemia

ECG Curve and Minerals

ECG changes hypercalcemia, hypocalcemia, hyperkalemia, hypokalemia, T wave, QT interval

ECG hypercalcemia 3,7mmol/l, short QT interval, J (Osborn) wave, junctional rhythm

Hypercalcemia ( 3.7 mmol/l )

ECG hypercalcemia 4,1mmol/l, short QT interval, sinus rhythm

Hypercalcemia ( 4.1 mmol/l )

ECG hypercalcemia, high calcium level 6,1mmol/l, short QT interval, J - Osborn wave with notch
