Hypocalcemia

Hypocalcaemia, Hypocalcemia, Low calcium level

Calcium (Ca2+)

food meal calcium nutrition source milk, cheese
  • Calcium is mainly responsible for repolarization of the action potential
  • Physiological concentration is 2.1 - 2.6 mmol/l
  • Hypocalcemia has 2 levels:
    • Mild ( 1.9 – 2.1 mmol/l ) hypocalcemia
    • Severe ( < 1.9 mmol/l ) hypocalcemia

  • Calcium is mainly found in:
    • Milk, cheese, and yogurt

Causes of Hypocalcemia

ECG and Hypocalcemia

ECG calcium serum level, hypercalcaemia, hypocalcaemia and ECG changes

ECG Curve and Minerals

ECG changes in potassium and calcium levels, T wave, QT interval

ECG hypokalcemia 1,4mmmol/l, prolonged QT interval, sinus rhythm

Hypocalcemia (1.4 mmol/l)

ECG low calcium, hypocalcemia 1,32mmol/l, long QT interval, sinus rhythm

Hypocalcemia (1.32 mmol/l)

ECG hypocalcemia 1,2mmol/l, prolonged QT interval, flattened T waves, ST elevation

Hypocalcemia (1.2 mmol/l)
