Cardiomyopathy

• Cardiomyopathy (CMP) is a group of diseases that primarily affect the myocardium
  
  
• Restrictive Cardiomyopathy (RCM)
• It is the rarest type of cardiomyopathy
• It occurs in infiltrative diseases:
• Amyloidosis (deposition of proteins)
• Hemochromatosis (deposition of iron)
• Sarcoidosis (deposition of immune system cells and molecules)
• Substances in the heart (iron, proteins, molecules) act as electrical insulators
• Therefore, the voltage of the QRS complexes will be reduced
• The heart becomes rigidly "stiff" (structurally altered)

Restrictive Cardiomyopathy

• Low ECG voltage (I, II, aVR, V4, V5, V6)
• Non-specific changes:
• Flat T waves
• ST elevations (V1-V3)
• Pathological Q wave (V1-V3)
• Non-specific changes and pathological Q waves can also indicate myocardial infarction
• The patient had sarcoidosis, and echocardiography confirmed restrictive cardiomyopathy
• The patient did not have a myocardial infarction
