Restrictive Cardiomyopathy

Restrictive cardiomyopathy

Cardiomyopathy

restrictive cardiomyopathy overview
  • Cardiomyopathy (CMP) is a group of diseases that primarily affect the myocardium

  • Restrictive Cardiomyopathy (RCM)
    • It is the rarest type of cardiomyopathy
    • It occurs in infiltrative diseases:
      • Amyloidosis (deposition of proteins)
      • Hemochromatosis (deposition of iron)
      • Sarcoidosis (deposition of immune system cells and molecules)
    • Substances in the heart (iron, proteins, molecules) act as electrical insulators
    • The heart becomes rigidly "stiff" (structurally altered)

ECG and Restrictive Cardiomyopathy

ECG restrictive cardiomyopathy, low voltage QRS complexes, non-specific ST T wave changes, pathological Q waves

Restrictive Cardiomyopathy

ECG restrictive cardiomyopathy, low QRS voltage, flattened T waves

Restrictive Cardiomyopathy
